2019 Highlights At yHub!

Our community of entrepreneurs, learners and supporters continued to grow in 2019.

In this, our second year, yHub was proud to host events and programs at our beautiful training, meeting and work spaces at Yanchep catering for entrepreneurs, diverse community interests and lifelong learners. Highlights included:

·       She Codes (formerly Perth Web Girls) where 30 women and girls of all ages learned to code at a colourful and engaging workshop

·       Business Spark entrepreneur workshop series sponsored by Yanchep Beach Joint Venture in conjunction with Spacecubed

·       Engaging Your Audience and Introduction to Smartphone Photography by OffshootContent

·       Facebook ads 101 workshop by Skills of the Modern Age

·       Practical Digital Marketing and Search Engine Optimisation courses sponsored by City of Wanneroo, Business Station

·       Regular Advanced Mentoring Group and free introductory workshops for business owners brought to yHub by Business Owners Board

·       Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways qualification fully achieved by 16 Year 10 students from Yanchep Secondary College and delivered by Yanchep Institute

·       Construction of a new bee keeping area at yHub by Yanchep Secondary College students

·       A successful introduction to beekeeping workshop for the general public piloted by Yanchep Institute

·       Regular meetups of a local honey bee product innovation group, coordinated by the Cooperative Research Centre for Honey Bee Products (CRCHBP)

·       The second annual CRCHBP Honey Hackathon where businesses and start-ups practised their investment pitches to an industry audience

·       City of Wanneroo services brought to Yanchep Two Rocks residents at the YTRAC office onsite

·       Outreach services by community organisations Uniting Care West, and APM JobActive and NDIS.


Many people shared their knowledge, skills and passion to support businesses and the community in the Yanchep Two Rocks area. Thanks go to our talented and enthusiastic yHub members, resident organisations, partners and contributors who helped to make it happen in 2019.
