Take advantage of LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a great tool for you to showcase what you do and who you are, it’s also a great way to connect with others in a non-formal, easy-going situation. Make sure your profile is up to date, take advantage of the features including writing articles and posting updates, and then, if you happen to meet someone at an event, or find a mutual connection, just send them a request on LinkedIn!

Know what networking events are happening around you

While the word networking makes many of us feel uneasy, it’s good to know what’s going on in your local community so you can go along to an event if and when it suits you. Perhaps there’s a local meetup that would give you a chance to share your new product idea with the right audience, or a sundowner where you can have a few drinks and meet some new people - just keep an eye out for whatever is happening around you!

Use every opportunity as a chance to connect
Some of the best connections are made by chance - running into someone in the local coffee shop or meeting a friend of a friend. Don’t pass up these opportunities! Have some business cards on you at all times, because you never know who you may meet.

Be active on social media

While LinkedIn is great for building business connections, it’s important to also be active on your brand’s social media pages. Give people something to look at if they visit your site! Let them know more about your story, your products and how you can be of service to them, all before they’ve even spoken with you.

Join a coworking space

And finally, we couldn’t write a blog about connecting with business owners without suggesting this! Joining a coworking space gives you the chance to meet people daily, and also allows you to keep on top of local events. So, why not try out a free day pass and see if it works for you?
